Box Office Report: May 19th

Well here is another Box Office Report, the May 19th edition.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian took the top spot at the box office over the weekend raking in $56.5million. The earnings were good but a little less than expected ($20-25million less than early estimates). The first Narnia film opened with $65million back in 2005. Hmmmm. Iron Man continues to dominate the box office taking in another $31.2million ($222.4 million total). I guess it’s safe to say that Iron Man was a box office success and I am sure the sequel is already being planned out. What Happens in Vegas was third on the list this weekend taking in $13.8million (40.3million total). Speed Racer continues to suffer at theaters taking in only $7.6million in it’s second week with a total of just $24.3million. Finally, Baby Mama comes in at fifth place with $4.5million ($47.2million total). To see the rest of the top 10 click here. This coming week’s movies opening include Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
