UNC Grad Given up to 33 Years in Prison for Drving SUV Into Crowd

FoxNews.com reports that UNC graduate Mohammed Taheri-Azar, 25, will serve up to 33 years in prison for driving an SUV into a crowded area at the University of North Carolina. Taheri-Azar drove the SUV into the crowded area known as The Pit, in order to protest against Muslim deaths over seas.

 

Thankfully know one was killed during driving schenanigan. But one person who was in the pathway of the SUV suffered a head injury. Other people suffered cuts and bruises.

 

Taheri-Azar drove his SUV between the speeds of 10 and 30 miles through campus, driving eventually to the pit.

 

After his drive throught the college he parked his car and waited for police to arrive. Once the police arrived he told them that he was the perpretrator.

 

Taheri-Azar left a note at his home saying that the cause for the attack was for revenge for the Muslim deaths overseas that he claimed were caused by the U.S. Taheri-Azar left a note at his home before he struck the campus because he thought he would be killed during his campus rendevou.
Taheri-Azar is a naturalized citizen who grew up near Charollote.
